You are invited to our Chili Cook-Off in the Commons (located in the Education Building) to celebrate our new members and baptisms! There are three categories you can enter, but spots are limited! Sign-up to enter the competition no later than Wednesday, October 16.
Don’t want to enter? Sign up to bring a side dish to share (i.e. cornbread, salad, rice).
Three Categories:
Classic: Got a winning recipe for a classic bowl of red? Beans, no beans, don’t give a hill of beans? It’s all good! Here’s your category!
Vegetarian: You’d put your best bean chili up against anything made from cow. Now you don’t have to! Butternut squash, you say? That works!
Anything Goes: Chicken chili verde, tofu, or a recipe so secret you’re not saying? This category is for you! Astound us with your delicious innovation.
Chili Cook-Off Rules (Yep, there’s rules! This is the southeast, not the wild west!)
Please drop your chili entry off before the worship service starts.
Label “Classic, Vegetarian, or Anything Goes.” If it’s gluten-free or vegan, please note that too. One entry per person.
This is a blind taste test. Please put your name on the back of the card provided at drop off.
Bring your chili ready to eat, but it can be reheated if necessary. If you have a crockpot, please bring it in that.
Prepare enough to be able to share for lunch.
Please bring special toppings, if any.
Prizes will be awarded for the favorite in each category!
Whether you are entering the competiion, or just want to eat some good food with good friends, go ahead and register so we can plan accordingly! We can’t wait to see you there.
