Family Advocates come alongside families to listen, help create and meet goals, and connect them to resources to move forward. They are primarily advocates and connectors, not providers. Their primary mission is to make disciples and love our neighbors in need.
-
Those in our community in need of an advocate (mentor/coach) to help them get “unstuck” in regards to finances, housing, relationships, or their spiritual journey.

Stephen Ministry

Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide one-to-one care for people in our congregation and community who are experiencing grief, health issues, divorce, spiritual crisis, job loss, infertility, or other life difficulties. Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry; the identity of those receiving care and everything they discuss with a Stephen Minister remain private.
-
Stephen Ministry is for those in our congregation or community who are facing a crisis or difficulty and would benefit from a caring friend to walk alongside them and provide emotional and spiritual support.
-
A Stephen Minister is a member of our congregation who has been carefully selected to serve in this role because of his or her caregiving gifts. Each one has completed 50 hours of training in providing high-quality, distinctively Christian care. These lay people serve as a caring Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages. They meet faithfully each week with their care receiver for about an hour as long as there is a need.

Redemeer Counseling
The UPC Counseling Ministry exists to shine the light of the gospel into all the places of our lives. UPC offers a counseling ministry because we believe that the gospel is a vibrant, healing force that can and should be applied to our life, relationships, thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
-
Many people in various stages of life have found counseling helpful. Counseling services are available for adults, adolescents and children. The need for counseling is dependent upon the issues involved. For some, a short stint in counseling helps provide perspective on a difficult topic. For others, more time is needed to help facilitate healing in the places that have hurt us for so long.
